You will be trained by other VAT experts to become the point of contact for the Shared Service Centers in Poland, Belgium and China as well as for the local accountants and various departments that are dealing with VAT issues (like master data teams, procurement, sales, customer support etc).

Coached by experienced professionals you will learn how to give practical advice on changing or new legislation, you will bring added value when analyzing cross border transactions and will actively pursue VAT optimizations on a European level. You are a driving force upon the implementation of new processes and flows.

At the same time you will, together with the team, detect and mitigate any VAT risks, by organizing and coordinating internal audits on VAT returns and other filings as they are prepared by the SSC’s and local accountants. You will actively participate in the management of external VAT audits.

You will co-manage the cash flow forecasting process relating to VAT.

Finally you will, with the other experts

• take care of the development and implementation of procedures and guidelines
• test IT-systems upon roll-out and implementation of new VAT rules, rates, goods and or service flows
• train the SSC’s and local accountants on VAT matters
• actively participate in various projects like reorganizations, mergers, …
• follow up on relevant national and international VAT developments

Profile

• Master in Law, Economics, Finance or Accounting with an additional education in VAT
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant (European) VAT experience
• Sound and practical knowledge of SAP (tax coding), knowledge of the I-VAT tool would be an asset
• Fluent in English
• Proactive, not afraid to take initiative, demonstrates ownership, ability to complete tasks, respects deadlines
• Analytical and critical mindset
• Teamplayer but also able to work independently
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
