Your mission
In this function you are responsible to conceptualise, design and implement sustainable purchasing systems, tools & processes that are standardised within all Product companies of a division and coordinated across CT divisions.


The role

As Business Process Engineer you are a key team member of the purchase department where you have to represent the system requirements of your purchase department colleagues on different levels in the organization but where you also have to support your colleagues in how to use the various systems.


General

  • You are aware of latest market trends of purchasing and logistical sytems, processes and tools so you can define the best-fit for your colleagues requirements.
  • You are able to find compromises between diverse requirements of different people and departments.
  • You are able to create clarity in complex multidimensional realities.
  • You conceptualise and continuously improve various tools and processes used in the purchase department.
  • You are the owner and key user of the systems used by your colleagues in the purchase department (SQA and buyers).
  • You define opportunities on operations that are currently manually and could be automated.


Divisional and interdivisional level

  • You are the purchase representative and you coordinate and align with other Atlas Copco divisions when it comes to new systems, tools and procedures.
  • You work closely toghether with divisional data analysts in order to develop standardised product company and divisional reports in data representation tools.
  • You identify system and process best practices in different product companies and you try to standardize and implement these best practices in other product companies.
  • You coordinate with the sustainability and quality coordinator to review and update purchasing processes of the Purchasing Quality Manual.


Product company level

  • You are the connection between the IT side and business side of the company.
  • You are the key contact and key user in the purchase department for all topics related to systems used by the buyers and SQA's in the purchase department.
  • You gather and analyse needs of the users and translates these needs in system and application specifications (requirements). These specifications are used to make the best choice in new applications and systems.
  • You follow up and implement new systems, tools and procedures in the purchase department.
  • You are responsible for coordination and scheduling trainings for all systems used by the purchase department and vendors.
  • You are the purchase representative and actively participate for tools, systems and proces changes that are commonly used between different departments.


Skills and experience

Educational requirements

  • Master of Science in Engineering or Commercial Engineering

  • You have good communicative requirements both in written and spoken language.
  • You are a team player and customer driven.
  • You have an analytical mindset and you are detailed.
  • You are able to keep the overview on complex problems but you have the ability to zoom in on the details.
  • You are eager to learn and gain knowledge on new technologies.
  • You are eager to implement new ways of working and to support your colleagues on this.

Are we a good fit?

Languages

  • Fluent in Dutch and English


Software

  • Knowledge of purchasing systems, logistical and quality processes (e.g. ERP (BPCS/SAP), invoice systems (Medius))
  • Knowledge of MS software tools (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams)
  • Knowledge of data representation tools (e.g. QlikView, PowerBi) and data management tools (e.g. SQL Management Studio)


Professional experience

  • 3 to 5 years experience in a purchasing environment, preferably at Atlas Copco
  • Experience with Atlas Copco Purchase to Pay tools & systems is an asset
